PAUL WANJIGI ALPINE HIGH SCHOOL

A DIFFERENT SCHOOL

Paul Wanjigi Alpine High School (PWA High) is an all-boys boarding school located outside of Naivasha, Kenya, teaching the 8-4-4 Kenyan curriculum.

We offer elite education that will enable students to excel in exams.

Additionally, we equip students with skills that will help them make a living upon high-school graduation, be leaders with integrity, and give back to their communities.

We mainly admit boys from vulnerable backgrounds. We partner with like-minded organisations for recruitment. Learn more

SCHOOL PROGRAMS

Schools exist to give kids education.

We believe that this education should extend beyond academics for growth in all areas of human life. Being a boarding school allows us to offer weekend and afternoon programs to nurture holistic development. This way, the students’ high school experience is turned into an opportunity to develop social and teamwork skills as well as a path of personal growth towards independence.

PWA High offers the following subjects: Maths, English, Kiswahili, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, History, Geography, CRE, German, Business, Agriculture, ICT, Physical Education, and Life Skills.

GAMES

We play football and volleyball. We run.

We also enhance communication skills and logical thinking through card and board games.

PUBLIC SPEAKING

Standing  in front of a crowd. Finding the right words. In English!

It’s an engaging way to dig deeper in current topics of interest. On the side, the students learn new words and phrases.

ENVIRONMENT

We love trees. We take care of them.

It’s all about creating a safe, healthy, clean, and conducive environment.

VOCATIONAL TRAINING

Having practical skills is the first step to living an independent life.

We offer hospitality training with more courses to be added. It’s also a great way to shine for those who are talented to work practically!

LESSON REVIEWS

Wait, what did we learn? Let’s review.

Every evening another teacher gets an hour to go through last week’s lessons with the kids.

FUNDAMENTALS

How well do we know the basics?

We repeat primary level Maths, English, and Kiswahili. They form the foundation for other subjects.

LEADERSHIP TRAINING

Our mission:
To raise leaders with integrity.

Together we look at famous leaders like Martin Luther King and learn from them. But it also takes a lot of self-reflection: Do we have what it takes to be a leader?

GUEST SPEAKER

Inspirational talks and workshops.

Every Saturday we widen our horizons by listening to personal stories – in person or online.

ALPINE COMMUNITY NIGHT

This is a forum where students brainstorm solutions .

It’s about the school and about oneself. Team building activities for a sense of togetherness. Personal reflection time for growth in their personalities.

LIBRARY TIME

Let’s read! Every day for at least 30 min.

Reading inspires. It allows us to dive in into other worlds. It also enhances comprehension skills.
